Farmington Hills Pharmacy in Farmington Hills, Michigan recently won a “Most Earned” Independent Pharmacy Cooperative (IPC) pharmacy star award for their use of EQUIPP for 2024 at the McKesson IdeaShare 2025 in Nashville.  Owner and pharmacist Tarek Haddo joins the Quality Corner Show and shares how proactive patient engagement in EQUIPP fosters loyalty, as patients appreciate the personalized attention and care they receive, which sets Farmington Hills Pharmacy apart from larger chains.

Tarek emphasizes that the EQUIPP platform is a comprehensive tool that allows his pharmacy to engage with patients, ensure medication adherence and compliance, and track refill reminders, which ultimately leads to improved patient care and increased revenue. He highlights that this proactive patient engagement fosters loyalty, as patients appreciate the personalized attention and care they receive, which sets Farmington Hills Pharmacy apart from larger chains.

Tarek shares that his team, consisting of two full-time technicians, a part-time pharmacist, and pharmacy students, engages with approximately 20-30 patients daily through phone calls, in-person visits, and emails. 

Regarding the EQUIPP platform’s impact on revenue, Tarek explains that it helps them identify and complete overlooked refills and additional therapy opportunities, directly contributing to increased earnings.
